White text sits on a brown back ground, next to a picture of Nicole. Nicole is a white woman with brown hair and is smiling towards the camera. The text reads, "As someone who works in the fashion industry, I am honored to be part of such a wonderful charity and I look forward to working on future projects together."

Nicole has been volunteering with us for the past few years, using her skills as a content creator to write copy for our website and social channels. Nicole is the first remote volunteer we've had and it's been a really great partnership for both of us. Here, we turn the tables and it's Nicole's turn to answer a Q&A about volunteering with FTCT!

When did you first volunteer with FTCT?

I reached out to FTCT in November 2021 to see if I could volunteer in the marketing department, and, much to my delight, they said yes! My first project was a Drapers Awards Q&A with one of the volunteers, Lucy, and since then I have always looked forward to getting started on the next project. Read Lucy's Q&A here.

What were you hoping to gain by volunteering?

I had just moved to London from South Africa before joining the FTCT as a volunteer, so it felt uplifting to be part of something really special. I believe it's important to have a sense of meaning and purpose in one's life, and this is one of mine.

How regularly do you volunteer with FTCT?

As often as I can! Right now I help out with projects as they come along or if I have any new ideas that I think will be great for the website or blog.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering with FTCT?

It is heartwarming to see the support being offered to families and children in need, making such a positive difference in their lives. As someone who works in the fashion industry, I am honored to be part of such a wonderful charity.

I am also inspired by creativity and telling stories, and being part of the marketing department allows me to explore new ideas.

What would you like to do more of?

Jill and I have been experimenting with videos for the blog, so I think it would be great to expand on this and do more features with people involved in the FTCT. I also love doing Q&A's! I always look forward to seeing what people have to say about their FTCT experiences.
