For employers How we help your staff A grant is a financial donation which doesn't have to be repaid. The grant must be used to buy essential items for children aged under 18 years such as clothing, school uniform, bedding or shoes. It can also be used for essential household items which support a child's wellbeing such as replacing a broken washing machine. It's our job to help the children of UK fashion and textile families. It's why we were founded back in 1853. Who can apply We define fashion and textiles as any UK business which sells, makes or designs clothing or fabrics. This includes leather footwear, soft furnishings-such as sofas- and interior textiles, such as curtains. Download this info sheet or visit our grants section for examples of what we mean by fashion and textiles. Employees can work in any aspect of the UK fashion and textile industry, from shop floor to factory, design studio to head office. All we ask is that they have a minimum of 1 years employment in UK fashion and textile, within the last 9 years. How you can help us By promoting FTCT to your staff, colleagues and professional networks, you increase the chance of our grants reaching more children. There are a number of ways for you to promote FTCT grants among your employees. We will work with you to find the most effective way to suit your business. If you are interested in promoting FTCT to your staff, please email [email protected] or call 0203 667 7882 Refer a family We always welcome referrals from employers, charities or professionals. We prefer to work directly with the family, but understand there are situations where this is not possible. In all cases, we advise the professional to contact our grants team, to discuss the families situation in more detail.
