Heidi told us:

Taking part in the London marathon will not only be my first event in raising money for a good cause, but it will be a new experience in running for me and I'm sure there won't be a mile that passes where I'm not thinking about the difference I will be making for FTCT and Aid International.

About the Fashion & Textile Children's Trust

We believe no fashion or textile family should struggle financially to meet their child's basic needs. It's why our charity was founded back in 1853.

We provide financial grants to children of UK fashion and textile families who are experiencing financial hardship. By funding essential items such as school uniform, bedding and clothing, we help hundreds of children every year.

Our work is more relevant than ever. Applications for our grants have tripled over the last year, with more requests for essential items including clothing.

An average grant starts at £250 per child, helping to buy school uniform, winter clothing and shoes for one child. As an industry, we need to help those being left behind. It’s our industry – let’s support each other, together.

About Aid International

Aid International is a fund-raising charitable trust; charities in partnership taking aid to the poor. Since 2000 Aid International have been organising teams of people to do sponsored bike rides, treks, marathons and building teams across the world for a variety of projects and charities.

AID is unique in that they do not run their their own projects. Instead they support other charities, raising money for them to use as they see fit. Additionally, they send Build Teams to Zambia, India and Guatemala, to help out with a number of projects run by local charities.
