A super hero’s salute to our fun runners – Sophie and Tasha – who work in the Oasis store in Farnham. Our fabulous caped crusaders will be raising funds for FTCT and hope to fly around Regent’s Park this Sunday, 13 May. If you’re looking to support a good cause this week, please donate to their JustGiving page and help them reach their target!

Sophie’s inspiration

Sophie says: “I recently had a talk from FTCT’s Director, Anna at an area meeting and was really inspired by the work they do. They help the children of families that work in the UK fashion and textiles sector, from buying uniform to funding life-changing wheelchairs. Having studied fashion and worked in fashion retail all of my adult life, they really struck a chord with me. I have had the privilege to work with so many lovely people and get to know their families and I know, if some of them had known about the charity, they could definitely have benefited from their work.”

Your donations

As Sophie attests, FTCT provide grants to help children whose families work in UK fashion and textiles, who are struggling financially or for children who have additional needs, allowing them to benefit from anything from a course of therapy to sensory toys. We’ve helped hundreds of children this year; just take a look at the stories of some of our families.

Want to set yourself a challenge?

We’ve got some great events for you, your family and friends to take part in, all year round and for people of all abilities. But don’t forget: you can pretty much fundraise in any way you like! Just get in touch and we’ll provide you with all the information you need, whether that’s helping you to sign up for a Santa Run or supporting you to take on a challenge of your own choice. Here are a couple we have up for grabs at the moment.

Parallel London, September 2018

This is an event open to children, parents and supporters, whether disabled or able-bodied (of all abilities and ages). Run it, walk it, push it or be pushed. ANYTHING GOES! You can take part in events ranging from 100 metres to 10km. You can use mobility aids and if extra support is needed for disabled participants, they can bring a ‘buddy’ to accompany them around the course for free. At Parallel London events, everyone can run together, side by side.

Santa Run, 2 December 2018

Great 5k or 10k run around Finsbury Park in your free Santa costume. That’s right – no need to grow a white beard! Or bring your own costume …. elf, reindeer, snowman ... in fact anything with a Christmas theme. There will be prizes for the best costume on the day for adults, children and pets (!) so make sure you are creative and dress to impress.
